engineering diplomacy
A downloadable game
Plan
Engineering Diplomacy is a text-based conversational game developed for the LangJamGameJam. In this game, players engage in diplomatic negotiations with NPCs to resolve conflicts, gather resources, and achieve strategic goals. The game is built using Kernel, a Scheme-like programming language created by John Nathan Shutt, where all objects are first-class. Kernel is simple, flexible, and powerful—yet often dismissed as impractical. This jam is the occasion to demonstrate that Kernel is not only usable and useful but also effectively used. Moreover, building with Mistral AI should bring the challenges I set out from the realm of the impossible to the doable in just seven days. Stay tuned, and hopefully, we will dive deep into a world of negotiation and strategy, where every choice impacts the outcome of your mission, and where time is critical.
Actual
Engineering Diplomacy is the beginning of a textual game built with an meta interpreter of Scheme that is inspired from Kernel by John Nathan Shutt, where syntax-rule, and syntax-case may have been replaced with vau procedures as known as operative. The game is textual game that can be played in a terminal. It does not require an Internet connection, nor access to a large language model.
